Welcome to a sketch week for the CC&S Blog. I used a little creative license interpreting this sketch. I've been waiting to use this Spellbinders wreath die set* for a while and decided to pull it out to create a sympathy card. I wanted to keep it simple and originally intended to have a sentiment at the bottom of the wreath, but decided it looked better with the words in the middle and used the flower and greens at the bottom in place of the sentiment banner. I inlaid the wreath and embossed the background with a striped embossing folder. The flowers are purchased, so this was a quick and easy card. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.
Take a peek at what the rest of the DT did with Patricia's great sketch on the CC&S blog HERE.
*In case you are like me and don't read things very carefully before you buy them, the large wreath die actually takes up almost the whole front of a 4.25 x 5.5 card!! The purple card back is 4.25" x 5.5". The white is barely .25" smaller.
Very pretty, great die cut that really frames the sentiment beautifully..
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath die and those purple flowers add some great dimension.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and love the inlaid wreath die. Great use of the sketch. Hugs Bev x
ReplyDeleteWonderful wreath! I like the extra fern-like stems.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I should say it's a lovely card seeing as it's a sympathy card, but it is. Great idea to inset the wreath. x
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Cathy! Love the wreath with the sweet little flowers and that fabulous sentiment font - another CAS beauty!!
