Sketch Saturday - Sketch #333

I worked on a quick card for this week's Sketch Saturday challenge from two Riley & Company's Funny Bones stamps I bought a while ago.  The sentiment is kind of the story of my exercise life!!

Vannessa created the fun sketch and Sir Stampalot, a UK stamp shop is our sponsor.  They have a great online shop that ships internationally, so check our their site and play along with us.  The other girls work is gorgeous; take a peek here.

Crafty Sentiments - Use a Sentiment

Team B is back up this week at Crafty Sentiments for a Use A Sentiment challenge.  Who doesn't love that kind of challenge!  I opted to go with a Christmas image, Hark the Angel Sing.  I used the same image for another card in September.  This time, I decided to focus on her face and hair,  I printed the angel on SU's Sahara Sand and then colored her with a combination of Copic markers, some Wink of Stella, red Stickles, and Spica pens.  The candle has a little white gel pen, colored over with SU markers.  The sentiment is a freebie from Verve stamps and the stitched dies are from Lil' Inker Designs.  I can't wait to see what you come up with for our Use A Sentiment challenge.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #332

Back with a new sketch from Sketch Saturday this week.  This one was created by our gal, Debra.  I loved the simplicity of the sketch and decided to keep my card simple too.  Of course it helped to have a package waiting for me this week from PTI.  I've loved the birthday die for several months and tried to buy it a couple of times, but it was on backorder.  I have a feeling I'll be using this a lot for some quick and fun birthday cards.  The Stickles on top of the words (for some bling) look so much better IRL than on camera!

Craft Room and DT Announcement

We are winding down with the Copics for Cardmakers class I am taking from Online Card Classes.  Part of Lesson 12  has to do with marker maintenance and storage.  I have revised my storage system about 4 times to accommodate my growing collection of markers.  I was particularly proud of myself last spring after a trip to Ikea.  I found a media shelf unit and adapted it for my newest (and last) Copic storage.  I improvised the dividers using some left over square tiles from Home Depot and cutting some drawer dividers from Michaels shelves.  It works so well for me because I needed something horizontal for my marker storage.  A side benefit was the unit provided me with more storage on top and it's wide enough for me to store other things to fill in the shelf!!
Another smaller Ikea shelf sits on top of my marker storage.
It holds 6x6 pads, my collection of sentiment stamps, refills and lots of misc. junk.
The rest of my L-shaped work desk.
It's rarely this clean!!

A broader view of the storage and part of my work space.
The 9 drawers underneath are where I store my scrap paper.
They are older wooden drawers from Ikea too!

And now onto the DT announcement. . .
You may have noticed the little owl on the left side of my blog.  Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends is a  NEW challenge blog that will be starting in January and I am on the DT.  Woot-woot!  I am just thrilled to be part of this new team and to help Amy and Denise start their adventure.   The sponsors are fabulous!  There are many companies that are new to me, which is fun - and for you there is more than one winner for each challenge!!  "Follow" the Challenge Blog, and the other DT members' blogs.  I hope to see you playing along with us in the new year.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #330

Carla has created this week's sketch to go along with our sponsor, Little Miss Muffet.  I used their image, Swings 'N Slides Lil' Spook for my card.  I am taking a Copic Markers for Cardmakers Class from Online Card Class and used a technique Sandy Alnook demonstrated using Ws and Cs next to each other.  I usually use those colors for shading, but not necessarily for coloring and certainly not together!  It was fun to experiment.  Frankie's hair and the night sky background are in Cs; his shirt and pants use Ws.  I also colored in the larger dots on the background paper.  Too bad I didn't wait one more night to color the background because she had a tutorial for creating night skies!

Take a peek at what the other DT members did with Carla's sketch here, and then play along with us!
