Creative Knockouts #161 - Fall

Creative Knockouts latest challenge is sponsored by Di's Digis.  The prize is a generous $12 certificate for her shop.  Our theme is fall, so I used lots of fall colors on my card.

I used a digi (#624 Best Friends) from artist, Sandra Caldwell for my card.  You can find more of her digis on her Facebook Fan Group or in her shop, Babycakes Digis and Designs.  A thanks to Sketch Saturday for the card layout!

This is my last challenge as a member of the Creative Knockouts DT.  I've had a wonderful time working with the team and getting to know Kelly.  She's the best!  I hope you will join the fall challenge at Creative Knockouts.

Creative Knockouts #155 - Tag Time

This week the Creative Knockouts challenge is all about tags.  My card uses the image, Support from our sponsor Glitterbabe and Stamping Boutique.  I decided to keep this card simple and use pink, black and white.  I used Stickles on the bra and a computer generated sentiment.  Take a peek at the DT creations here and then play with us.

Creative Knockouts Challenge #153 - Favorite Colors

Welcome to another Creative Knockouts Challenge.  This one is sponsored by Imagine That Digi Stamps.  I used Baseball Boy for my card.  Three digis come with the set, the boy as you see him as well as a baseball bat and ball.  After coloring the boy, I fussy cut around it and popped it out.  I created the background using the bat and ball and some word art.

My husband takes our grandsons on a baseball trip every summer.  They go to farm team games and minor league games in the midwest.  This was the first trip for the youngest, so I made a card for them.  Great memories!

Our challenge is using your favorite colors.  I don't really have favorite colors, but what I do love is to use neutrals with a bright pop of color, hence the brown with the bright blue.  Take a peek at the rest of the DT's work here and then play along with us.

Creative Knockouts #151 - Birthday Wishes

Good Morning, Creative Knockouts Fans!  Birthday Wishes is this week's challenge.  Star Stampz is our sponsor; my image, Alice Chibi begged to be made into a belated birthday card.  This one went through many iterations on the way to its final look.  I had these butterfly button dies and used them as an accent and added glossy accents to the clock faces.
Don't forget to check out the DT inspiration here. Can't wait to see what you enter in the challenge this week.

Creative Knockouts #149 - Animal Antics

"Animal Antics" is the theme for this week's Creative Knockouts challenge, sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy.  These cute kids are a digi named,  Little Travelers.  My card is a combination of the digi and stamps.  I have to admit I was momentarily stumped as a DT member because I didn't look at the theme when I chose my sponsor image (oops!).  I went to my trusty stamp stash and dug out a retired SU set called Zoofari and borrowed the snake for my card.  The background trees are stamps from Paper Smooches and the stitched frames are from Lil' Inkers.  There's lots of fussy cutting on this card and the kids are popped out to look like they are walking out of the picture.  It's super-cute IRL.

Take a look at the rest of the DT inspiration here and then play along with us!

Creative Knockouts #147 - A Charmed Life

Oddball Art is this week's sponsor at Creative Knockouts.  This forlorn little girl is named Cassidy.  She's going to a friend who is recovering from an operation.

The challenge is to add a charm to you card.  Unfortunately, there was no charm in sight in the piles around my craft room, but I found one of these little mini clips from my days as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  It's metal, and having moments of creativity leads to a charmed life, right?!?!  Take at peek at the DT cards here, and then play along with us!

Creative Knockouts #137 - Humorous Card

I was so excited to request this image, Baby Shoes Without Laces, from our sponsor Doodle Pantry that I forgot to consider the challenge theme when I made the card, so sadly, my card isn't humorous - but's it's cute right?!?  And isn't it a bit humorous that I whiffed on the challenge?  So there - a little humor!

Onto this darling sponsor image.  I love the ability to create real laces for these shoes.  It really makes the card precious.  I paper pieced part of the shoes rather than color this week. . . so many possibilities with this image!!
Check out the humor of my teamies here and come play along with us this week at Creative Knockouts!

Creative Knockouts #141 - Flower Power

I may have take our Flower Power challenge theme a little too far for this card, but I had an idea and decided to run with it!  Do you know those wonderful 3-D sugar eggs with the scene inside? Well, I tried to create one with my card, complete with lots of Stickles to emulate the sugar!  The cute Egg Bunny image from our sponsor, Sami Stamps is flat against the card back and the white egg with the flowers glued all around is popped up to give it some dimension.  The flowers are supposed to be the icing that's piped all around the hole.  I think I have some more playing around to really get this down.  I am planning to try it again using a smaller image which will allow me to make a smaller cut opening so more of the egg is visible.  If I get it "right", I'll post it on my blog.  I hope you will hop on over to the Creative Knockouts Blog and play along with us this week.  I can't wait to see what you do with the Flower Power theme!

Creative Knockouts #129 - In Stitches

This week's Creative Knockouts challenge is sponsored by The Paper Shelter.  I am using their image,  called Hope.  I used a darker color for the background so the dove would pop.  The shading of her face and eyes came out just lovely - wish I could say the same for the turquoise streaks in her hair.  Such is how it goes when playing around with coloring! You can relate, right?!?

Mojo Monday's sketch was my design basis  and I added some flowers from W Plus 9's Fresh Cut Florals and a "peace" die cut to complete my card.
I hope you will play along with our In Stitches challenge this week.

Creative Knockouts #127 - Love Is In the Air

My card for this week's Creative Knockouts challenge uses an image from All Dressed Up's Love to Shop collection of girls.  She's one I have had in my collection for a while and unfortunately, I can't find her in the ADU Etsy shop right now, but there are enough girls that you could use the same idea for a card design.  I have used ADU girls before and paired them with a sentiment.  I used the Sugar Cuts Notched Journal Card Die for the heart background and some patterned papers from a Valentine Crate Paper 6x6 stack.  Take a peek at the DT inspiration here and then play along with us this week!

Creative Knockouts #123 - Anything Goes

The Creative Knockouts challenge this week is sponsored by SLS Lines.  Their image, Book Lover was a great one to play around with for me this week.  I knew right away I wanted to print the digi on some old SU newsprint I had in my stash and color on the newsprint.  I decided to use and oval stitched die to frame my gal and added a computer generated sentiment.  A few glittery sequins and some Stickles on the pencils added finishing touches.  Who doesn't like sparkle?!?  Come and join the DT this week with your own glittery creations!
