Sketch Saturday - Sketch #404

Good Morning Saturday Sketchers,

Lesley is the designer of this week's fun and fabulous sketch.  It's a great one to work with. Bunny Zoe Crafts is sponsoring this week's prize.  Sadly, Bunny Zoe has made the hard decision to close up shop soon and offering 30% or more off everything in the store.  This would be a good time to take a look at everything they have to offer, especially to folks in the UK and Ireland.  Bunny Zoe has been a longtime sponsor of Sketch Saturday and we will miss them.
Take a look at the DT samples here and play along with us this week.I trust that may folks share my paper-hoarding affliction.  I have a stack of uncut 12x12 paper six inches thick and then there's my growing pile of 6x6 pads!! The theme at Clear It Out this week is using patterned paper over a year old, so I actually cut into a 12x12 sheet!!  I dare you to play along with their challenge too!  My paper was so happy to actually be used!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #316

It's Saturday, so that means another challenge at the Sketch Saturday Blog.  This week the Etsy Shop, All Dressed Up Stamps is our sponsor.  The images Wendy Burns draws are great to work with.

I am using Party Girl #2 from the Three Little Party Girls set.  I have been working on blonde hair lately and working at keeping a light touch.  Without knowing it, Marilyn, my friend from All Dressed Up, keeps me inspired and challenged by her beautiful coloring.  I've been using her four colors (Y21, 23 & E33, 35) a lot lately - and the variation they can achieve is amazing.

Sister Act Challenge #59

This week's  Sister Act Challenge is sponsored by the Etsy shop, All Dressed Up.  Wendy Burns draws all of the cute images.  I love her  style and follow the members of her talented DT as well ADU's Facebook page.  Our DT is featuring a few of ADU's images.  I dug into my own stash and made a card using one of the images from her Three Little Autumn Girls digi.  This is actually a four-in-one set.  Each girl comes as a single digi and the fourth stamp is all three girls together.  If you are new to ADU, spend a little time at the shop - I bet you'll find a digi you can't live without!

Crafting By Designs - Guest Designer!

I have some exciting news for this post.  A while back, one of my cards won a challenge at Crafting By Designs.  In addition to digis from the challenge sponsor, Milk Coffee, I was asked to be a guest designer for this week's challenge which is lace/doilies.  Woo!  I love playing along with the challenges at Crafting by Designs and being inspired by their talented DT, so it was an honor to be asked to join their team this week.

I chose another of the sweet images Wendy Burns creates over at All Dressed Up for my card.  This one is called Happy Christmas Little Star.  I was able to crop out the sentiment and create a birthday card.  I just love these papers with the image.  A quick stop at Michael's and a package of 4" doilies from the baking aisle gave me the doilies for the card.  I popped on some rhinestones, added a sentiment and ribbon and the card came together.

Head on over to the Crafting by Designs blog and play along with the lace/doily challenge.

Stick It Down - January Card Challenge

It's the second Tuesday of the month and that means it's time for the first card challenge at the Stick It Down Challenge Blog!  Each Tuesday, you will find scrapbook page layouts or a card sketch challenge.  Card sketches are always the second Tuesday of the month.

I am the sketch designer.  The first sketch is simple, which allows you to give it your creative twist.
Stick It Down - January Card Sketch

I used an image from the Etsy shop, All Dressed Up.  This is one of the Wear with Style girls from set 1.  While you are checking out the darling images from All Dressed Up, take a look at their Challenge Blog too!

I love challenging myself in my coloring.  For a while, I really concentrated on hair.  The more I have practiced, the easier it has become.  On this image, I focused my attention on creating folds in her dress rather than simply shading the skirt.  I spent some time on You Tube watching videos about coloring folds. As I began to try it for myself, it took four or five tries before I could see where the shading and highlights needed to go.  I felt satisfied with this one.   The background paper was on sale at a local craft shop.  I think the pattern and color combination is a fabulous jumping off point for this stylish girl.

I hope you will play along with the Stick It Down sketch this month.  I will be visiting the blog of each card that is uploaded.  I can't wait to see what you do with the sketch!

Sister Act Challenge #34

Another anything goes challenge at the Sister Act Card Blog this week!  Ink and Whimsy2 is sponsoring.

My card uses an image from a company that is new to me - All Dressed Up Stamps.  The etsy shop is owned by artist, Wendy Burns.  I found ADU by accident one Saturday morning, and while in my pajamas managed to spend a "chunk of change" between cups of coffee!  It was one of those mornings, where after looking at the blogs and cards of one of her her talented DT members, I found myself still at the computer three hours later - having shopped at Whimsy Stamps for the Raindrop Echo Sentiment digi where the sentiment came from), and purchased some stamps from Purple Onion Stamps.  Yikes!

DT member, Marilyn inspired me to create my card, from this one.  (I blame her for the money I spent too!!  Don't you just love enablers?!?)  Do you see the cute yellow print paper?  It's a digi from All Dressed Up.  For a little more than a dollar, I got four sweet patterned papers.  I've never bought digital paper before, but for the price, I thought it was worth trying.  There happened to be a piece of yellow cardstock in the printer, so the paper has a yellow background.  I love it printed on white, and thought it looked cute on the yellow too!

Copics used:
Hair:  E50, 31, 25, 29
Skin:  E000, 00, 11, R20
Top:  E50, 51, 53; bow E07, 09
