Sister Act Challenge #46

NZ company, Stamp and Create is our sponsor at the Sister Act Card Challenge Blog this week.

I've made a card from a Papertrey Ink set, Delightful Dahlia Additions, that has been literally sitting on my desk since July. . . one of those purchases I was sucked into making because I followed the blog during the release and I had to have it!  Fast forward seven months to when I actually broke it open.  Why did I wait so long?!?! It was such an easy image to use!  I cranked out 8 cards, some were a little more elaborate, and others more CAS like this one.   It's a three step stamp.  I spritzed water on the stamp after applying the ink to soften the color and give it a watercolor look.

I hope you will stop by Sister Act and see what the DT has for you this week and then join in with our anything goes challenge.

Challenges Entered:
Clear It Out - Birthday & Bling
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes
Little Red Wagon - Yearning for Spring

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #298

I had so much fun with Alex's fabulous sketch this week.  The Etsy shop, Oak Pond Creations is sponsoring Challenge #298 at Sketch Saturday.  I  jumped at the chance to use their Digital Stamp Violin image because my 13 year old grandson is passionate about playing the violin.  I knew this would make a perfect Valentine card for him!  I kept him in mind as I created, looking for little connections he might discover in the card.  I wonder if he'll notice the word Italy (where he was born) next to the heart on the tag?  Speaking of tags - I can't even remember the last time I used a metal rimmed tag.  Probably the time they were a popular embellishment years ago.  Luckily, I resisted buying the tool to make my own metal rimmed tags!!  This one is left from a package I bought that's already mounted on a pop dot.

Sister Act Challenge #45

This week Stitchy Bear's Digital Outlet is sponsoring the Sister Act Challenge Blog.  They have a variety of types of digital stamps.  I've used one of their Adventure Kid boys - this one is called King.  I made him into a birthday king by adding a stamp to his crown and the 5 on his shirt.  I dug deep into my stash and found a birthday coin, so I added it to the card, knowing it would become a favorite of the birthday boy!

All of our weekly challenges are anything goes, so join us and show off your creativity!

Color Me Creative Challenge #87 - Anything Goes

Marker POP! is sponsoring the anything goes challenge for the next two weeks at Color Me Creative.  I used a Tiddly Inks image you can find at Marker POP! called, "Flutterby to Say Hi" as my mail focal point.  The sentiment is pieced together from a PTI Valentine set and a Sassy Cheryl set.

I concentrated on the hair (again).  I love experimenting with colors and tried a color combination that my blogging friend, Marilyn used for her ADU girl, YR24, 21, E37, 35.  It's fun to see how different our two girls look, just based on the amount of each color we apply.  I also used the image to guide my coloring of folds in the dress. The first time I colored this girl, the dress didn't have folds - next time, the back fold will be a bit smaller.  A great sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches pulled the whole card together!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #297

Vannessa's sketch this week for Sketch Saturday was perfect for Raine, this sweet Dilly Beans image.  It also allowed me to try something former Guest DT Member Mary J does so well - popping out the card front, fussy cutting the image, and then mounting it outside of the die cut circle.

Dilly Beans is right up there in my Top 5 favorite sites for digital images.  Artist, Megan Suarez's "Big Eye Girl" collection has so many images that are fun to color.  Now is the time to make a purchase. . .  she's having a BOGO offer until February 16th!

Stop by the Sketch Saturday blog for inspiration and then play along with us this week for a chance to win your own set of digital images from our sponsor, Dilly Beans!

Sister Act Challenge #44

I needed to make a get well card for an 11 year old boy and happened upon this cute From the Heart image called Sick Chick.  I paired it up with the sketch from Unscripted Sketches and the card came together quickly.  Can you tell I went way back in my stash to find those jumbo eyelets?!?!  Thank goodness I saved the setting tool!

Paper Addictions is this week's sponsor at the Sister Act Challenge Blog.  Check out the DT inspirations and play along with us!

Stick It Down - February Card Sketch Challenge

Back again for our second card sketch challenge at Stick It Down Blog.  Our Guest DT member from last month's challenge is Ardilla.   I am so glad Ardilla accepted our invitation and hope you stop by her blog and leave a little love for her.  We're a new and growing challenge blog for scrapbooking and card making.  Our card challenges are the second Tuesday of each month, so spread the word to other card makers and enter the challenge!

I've used a Dilly Beans image, #432 Elly Framed for my card.  It's the same image, but smaller size and different colors as the shaker card that I made in my last post.  I love these big eyed girls.  They are so versatile and make a lovely card. Play along with us at Stick it Down.  You have until February 17th to link up your card.  I can't wait to see your take on the sketch!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #296

Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring Jen's sketch this week for Sketch Saturday.  I decided to go big on this one, so my card is larger than 4.25 x 5.5.  I used a  Dilly Beans  image called  #432 Elly Framed.  The eyes and hair were so much fun to color.  I used the sketch to create a shaker card for Valentine's Day; this one for my oldest grandaughter.  The girls were at my house when I was coloring and patiently stood and let me see where light was reflected on their faces. Being able to study them helped me in the coloring, especially around the eyes and nose.  Hope you'll join us this week at Sketch Saturday.  Pop by the blog and see what Guest DT member Marilyn and the rest of the gals have done with this week's sketch!

Sister Act Challenge #43

Friday means another anything goes challenge at the Sister Act Challenge Blog.  Coloring this little cutie from our sponsor, Paper Nest Dolls, put me in the mood for summer.  In the middle of this cold winter, the idea of wearing a sleeveless shirt rather than layers of fleece, turtlenecks, and wool is so appealing!

I'm playing around with texture on this card in the grass, the sunflower center, and Sunflower Ellie's dress.  Even her hair is wavy and textured!  For those of you who know my work, I don't usually dabble in textures.  I have to thank Suzanne Dean at Color Me Creative, for providing the challenge.  Maybe you'd like to try texture on your card this week!

Color Me Creative #86 - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Silly Dilly Beans is CMC's Challenge sponsor for the next two weeks.  I am in love with artist, Megan Suarez's fun images.  I chose Rosie #237 for my card.  I really wanted to keep Rosie the focal point. Each time I tried something new, or a little busier paper, Rosie faded into the overall card.  I decided to use the dark brown embossed background and kept papers and embellishments fairly simple.  Stop by the Color Me Creative blog and see what the other DT members created . . . simply amazing!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #295

Turning the calendar to February turns my attention to Valentine's Day, and when I think of  sweet, loving images -  this week's sponsor,  A Day For Daisies comes to my mind right away. The artist, Tammy Thompson has such a unique style and every one of her images are inspiring.  On top of it, Tammy is incredibly generous and kind.  I came across ADFD while taking an online Copic Coloring class with Michelle Houghton at Creative Passion.   I was thrilled when Tammy offered to sponsor Sketch Saturday this year.

I am using Flowers In My Garden for my card.  Doesn't this make you think of summer?  What a contrast to the snow piled up outside of my window and the below zero temperatures!  Check out the DT cards this week and play along with us at Sketch Saturday!
