ATSM Challenge #288 - Holiday

It's a holiday theme for Challenge #288 on the Addicted to Stamps & More BlogGo Hog Wild from Amuse Studio was the perfect foil for this card.  Some masking, manipulating the cows' positions, and a little fussy cutting helped get things just right!  Copics were used to give the cows some dimension and create the grass in the pasture. I just love how this turned out and will be making this one again!

Hope you will play along with us at ATSM this week.  Check out the DT makes HERE!

CAS Colours & Sketches #268 - Color Challenge

The colors Karen has picked for this week's CAS Colours and Sketches challenge gave me a chance to dig into my stamp stash.  I decided to ink up Pencil Me In from PTI - a stamp set I've had for years, but only used once.  The stitched die around the border is from Right at Home Stamps and I decided to add a little visual interest with Frontage and a few enamel dots.  Hope you will try your hand at this week's CC&S challenge.  Take a look at how my teamies have put their creative twist on this week's challenge here

CAS Colours & Sketches #267 - Sketch Challenge

I did a little adjusting of Karen's fun CC&S sketch in order for the tag to work on my card.  A colleague just announce her retirement; the so happy for sentiment from SugarPea's Sweet Sentiment You stamp set was perfect with the Sugar Cuts You word die.  The flag just needed to be placed at the top rather than the bottom of the tag! My original thought was to use black paper and emboss the words in white, but it seemed to heavy and didn't enhance the design.  Using vellum solved the problem!

Hope you will pop over to the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog and check out how my teamies interpreted this week's sketch before you add your creation to the gallery!

My Time to Craft Challenge #368 - Box/Bag with Matching Tag

The theme for Challenge #368 on the My Time to Craft Blog
is to make a box or bag and a matching tag. I dusted off my rarely-used envelope punch board and searched for a video to help make by a gift box for cards.  (The SU designer paper was so old, it started cracking when I scored it! Must stop collecting paper and use it!!)  Thank you, Jennifer McGuire for the easy to follow video from 2014!!

I simply added a belly band using the opposite side of the paper. The tag and words is the Gift Tag Die from Sugar Pea Designs and the flower die cut is from Sizzix Funky Floral #1.  The turquoise ribbon and orange ribbons added a pop of color to the whole design.  Take a peek at the DT creations and then play along with our newest challenge.

Addicted to Stamps & More #286 - Anything Goes

I love an anything goes challenge, which is what we have for you this week at ATSM.  I pulled out my new Lilac stamp from Penny Black and used Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry (from CC&S's color challenge) to work on Challenge #286 at Addicted to Stamps & More.

I know these aren't typical lilac colours, but the stamp's flower is versatile and doesn't need to be limited to lilacs.  After using the three ink colors on watercolor paper, I went back in with an aqua painter and added a more color for a layered look.  The leaves have some of the Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry mixed with Old Olive, which created the brownish color for the stems. The flowers popped when I added Rich Razzleberry to the coral blooms.  A Lil Inkers die cut sentiment is inlaid.  Not sure that I like where the sequins are placed, but the big one at the top is hiding a little splotch of green ink!!  Oops!

Come and play with the ATSM's anything goes challenge this week!  Take at peek at the DT creations here!

CAS Colours & Sketches #266 - Colour Challenge

I had a great idea for working with the colors Karen gave us to work with on the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge Blog this week, but in the end it didn't feel CAS so back to the drawing board and this was the result.  (Here's my first card, in case you are curious!)

Ribbon is on my radar right now, so I pulled some out for today's card.  I did some purging (and cleaning) including three drawers of ribbon, limiting myself to 10 of each color.  (Each drawer has 4 sections - so that is still plenty of ribbon!!)  Remember when ribbon and buttons were the rage in card making?!?  My stockpile is healthy!

Two simple stamps - Echo Park's Flower Garden 4x6 Stamp is the background with a sentiment from PTI's Penned Elegance; a very old Spellbinders die backs the sentiment, and some enamel dots from my collection finished off this CAS card!

Karen is April's CC&S challenge-host.  Take a peek at the DT's make's HERE.  Hope you have time to join us this week.
