Sketch Saturday- Sketch #265

This week for Sketch Saturday, I'm using another Doodle Garden image.  Here's a boy that I colored back in March.  I love the whimsical look of Jennifer Nilsson's kids.

I bought this cutie from MFT months ago and just inked her up.  I pieced her pants, the heart, the flower, and the peace sign - which made things a little simpler.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the heart, peace sign and flower have glitter on them.  The hair on this girl was really tricky for me!  I probably colored 4 or 5 heads before I settled on this one.  I used a card I pinned on Pinterest as a model for my coloring. (Thank you Jenny Peterson!)  I really like how the light hits her hair in a variety of spots.

Stop by the other DT members and check out their creations! This week's sketch sponsor is Milk Coffee.  They are offering digi images to the winner of the challenge.  I hope you will play along.

Sister Act Challenge #13 & Sketch Saturday Challenge #264

It's my last week of work before a long-awaited vacation, so it's been kind of hectic around here.  I decided to take one thing off of my plate and double-dip this week with this beautiful image from A Day for Daisies.  It's called Two Girls and Mom.  The artist behind A Day for Daisies images is Tammy Siemers Thompson.  I discovered her work a year ago when I was taking an online Copic coloring class from Michelle Houghton from Creative Passion Classes.  The image was a little beyond my skills at the time - all of that hair was overwhelming to me!  I've been practicing with coloring hair enough that I felt ready to tackle it now.  Luckily, I still had Michelle's tutorial to use as a reference for shading and light source.  I'd list my all of my Copic colors, but I went a bit overboard on the mom's hair!  The mom's dress is BG 11, 32, 34, 57.  The older girl's dress is R20,22, 24, 27 and the little girl's dress is R0000, 000, 01.

Join us at Sister Act for our anything goes challenge.  Our sponsors are Digi Darla and Ink and Whimsy 2.

Over at the Sketch Saturday blog, it's Jen's birthday (on June 22nd) .  Her gift to us is a choice of sketches since she started designing!   This week you can choose any sketch from #216 through #263.  There are so many great sketches to choose from.  I looked for a simple sketch (#217) for my card so the image would be its feature.

Hope you will play along with us at Sketch Saturday this week.  Our sponsor is Loves Rubber Stamps.

Sister Act Challenge #12

It's week 12 at the Sister Act Challenge Blog and our sponsor for this challenge is Paper Addictions.  The artist, Jackie Matthews has an array of images in her Etsy shop.  This one is called Katie Bug is Ready for Rain.  I went back to my tole painting days and used stippled dots around the based of the daisy's center.  It gave some depth and added interest to the flower.  There's bling all around this card because it's going to one of my sweet granddaughters.

Take a look at some of Jackie's other images and the fabulous, fun, summery cards the other DT members put together this week!  It makes me want to spend the weekend coloring!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #263

It's time for a new sketch over at the Sketch Saturday Blog.   This week's sponsor is Sassy Studio Designs and the prize is your choice of four digi images!

I don't have any hexagon dies, so I used circles in the sketch.  Layering the circles made for a pretty clean and simple card.   Sequins are the top layer.  The "hello" is done with white embossing powder.

Sister Act Challenge #11

I hope you will join in the fun at the Sister Act Challenge Blog this week.  Milk Coffee is the generous sponsor again this week.  They have a blog with their own weekly challenge too.

This little girl, Charlotte must be one of their signature images because she is on their blog header and in their advertising.  I decided to use reds and yellows in this card.  I also make Charlotte's boots a little taller so they looked like Uggs!  It's hard to tell from the photo, but I used rhinestones in the centers of three of the flowers.
My trusty Copics were used for coloring and the yellow card base is dry embossed with a CB dotted folder.

This card is posted in the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday #262

Friends Forever - Lili of the Valley
I needed to make a card for a friend  and this week's sketch challenge from Sketch Saturday worked well for my image by just turning it on its side - so here I am, one week early!

I'm on a Lili of the Valley kick lately!  I bought some of their black and white sketch pads a month ago and one of them was the pad of fairies.  They are so much fun to color with my Copics, especially the hair.  The blond girl started out much lighter, but I like how it turned out.   This card is going to a retiring kindergarten teacher.

Simon Says Stamp is this week's sponsor.  I hope you will play along at Sketch Saturday this week and take a look at the creations of the other DT gals.  There's a bonus over at the blog.  It's the 5 Year Anniversary and Susie has some great blog candy for one lucky person.  You have two weeks to enter!  The drawing closes at 2 pm UK time on June 19th.  Looking forward to seeing your creations!

Sister Act Challenge #10

This birthday card is for my granddaughter, Maya's fourth birthday.  It was a bit of a production because I cut through all of the top layers to make the oval window that shows the image.  What could be better than pink hair using a variety of RV Copics, except the glittery black bow and headband?!?  The photo didn't pick it up very well, but I used a black glitter pen to color the bow.  It looks great IRL.

The die cut letters are from PTI and the bow is Stampin' Up!'s Melon Mambo gross grain ribbon.  Two jewels were perfect additions over polka dots to the sides of the word "girl".

Helloami/Princess Mi is this week's Sister Act Challenge sponsor.  Hope you will enter a card and check out what the other DT members have created.

Exciting Times!

Fairies on Tiptoe - Lili of the Valley
I am excited and humbled to announce that I am one of five new people selected to join the DT for the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog!  Woo-hoo!  I love sketch challenges, and am already inspired by the talent of the other gals on the DT.  As near as I can tell, the DT is composed of a variety of women from Europe and the U.S..  What an example of how small and connected our world has become with the internet!

My first official challenge is a week from Saturday, but I thought I'd enter a card in this week's sketch.  The sponsor is Lili of the Valley, and this sweet fairy is one of their images.  She is colored with Copics and the papers are from My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing.  I made her for a woman who is retiring from where I work.  Her passion, dedication, and vision will be missed.  I wanted to let her know how grateful I am, and what is better than a card?!?

The card will be posted in these challenges:
