Today is the first day of my winter break and I've had the day to myself. I spent some time in my craft room - just playing! It's the first time I haven't worked on a card for a DT challenge and made one for fun. It was a great feeling. I was inspired by two of today's challenges at
Splitcoast Stampers. The
CAS challenge this week is snowmen and the
technique challenge is to use a bow. I combined both for my card.
Over the weekend, I mass-produced a bunch of holiday thank you cards for gifts from the kids at my school. I mistakenly stamped a thank you border upside down and tried a snowflake embossing folder, but it didn't work with the other elements on the thank you cards, so I used pushed the paper to the side to be used another time. That's where I started with today's card. I went to my stamps and found this little snowman from Inky Antics. It's several years old! From there, I used my Lil' Inker stitched circle dies and made a frame. I added the bow, and viola! a new style of thank you card!
Here's the original card I created using Mama Elephant's
Sentimental Borders and
Blogging Buddies stamp sets and a notebook paper embossing folder from Darice. It was a super-quick card to assemble multiple copies of.
