Hi Sketch Saturday Fans,
This is the fifth Saturday in August and that means you get to choose any sketch from #215 to design your card this week.  I am using a modified version of Sketch #295, myself.  You get the gist of the sketch, right?!?

A Day for Daisies Challenge #129 - Add Some Plaid!

The A Day for Daisies DT is back with some more veggies this week.  My card uses the stamp Fancy Corn from the Veggie Lover Collection.  I decided to make my card and corn an homage to fall, rather than represent the yummy yellow corn that we have been enjoying this summer in MN.  I love how it turned out.  I haven't colored many veggies for cards; I've thoroughly enjoyed challenging myself these past two weeks.  As a matter of fact, the Fancy Carrots digi I used for last week's showcase card is on sale for 50% off in the ADFD shop.

Our new challenge on the ADFD blog is to Add Some Plaid.  I didn't realize how much of a challenge that would actually be until I looked through my HUGE stash of paper and realized I barely had three plaid patterns!  I found this plaid in a 6x6 pack of boy papers, but I think it works on this card.  (Now if it had been a polka dot challenge, I could have gone crazy!!)

A Day for Daisies - Showcase - Veggie Lover

This week we're showcasing the Veggie Lover collection on the A Day for Daisies Blog.  We are in the middle of summer harvest where I live, so this collection is perfect timing for what is happening in nature.  My husband introduced me to the wealth of colors of carrots last year, so I decided to color mine to reflect some of the kinds we have sampled.  This image, Fancy Carrots, is a great reminder of summer garden blessings.  

The Add Sequins challenge has another week, so pop some sequins on one of your ADFD images and play with us this week.  Take a peek at the veggies the DT have created here.

A Day for Daisies #128 - Use Sequins Challenge

The ADFD DT is back with another look at Tammy's gorgeous August releases.  My card features a lovely addition to the Timeless Beauty collection called, Vintage Lipstick.  She was such a joy to color!  I love those lips and the big eyelids to play with creating a "dusty eye"!!


















 I made the background paper by stamping with Versa Mark and using clear embossing powder on top of patterned paper. You rub ink on top of the embossed paper and the clear embossing powder lets the patterned paper show through. My original patterned paper was white with green polka dots.  I used SU!'s Early Espresso ink.  The combination created a vintage look that went with the image.  

The sentiment is from Little Inkers.  I masked off the second part - which says, "a little smart assy!" and added it to the inside. I have the perfect friend to give this card to for a birthday card.  The sentiment is so her!

Good Morning Sketch Fans!  Happy Saturday!  Alex has a great sketch for you to work with this week.  It's a Simon Says Stamp! sponsor week - so that means a $25 credit to the store for the lucky winner!  I'm using a Verve sentiment and an old PTI stamp for my card. A Day for Daisies - August Release

It's time for our August Release at A Day for Daisies!  You will love the new images - a combination of mermaids and some new beauties. Coloring this image, Chubby Mermaid One, stretched my coloring skills - especially the hair. I had to create my own lines of movement,  It was so much fun working on her tail that I added water, sand, and an island to create a scene to surround her.
