It's a sketch challenge week on the CAS Colours and Sketch Challenge Blog and it's my last week as the challenge hostess. I thought this one would be easier for me than it was. All of that plain paper was begging for something else, but I stopped myself from sliding it through an embossing folder! The image is called Wondering Midge from Riley and Company and the sentiment is from Lil' Inkers. MFT provided the rectangle dies.
I hope you will join us this week. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch! Take a peek at the DT's work for some inspiration!

CAS Colours and Sketch #232 - Colour Challenge
Hi Everyone,
Another new 2017-18 In-Color for you to try with this week's CC&S challenge. This one is Powder Pink, which reminds me of the pink ballet leotards are made in. It's very similar to Blushing Bride, but with a little less brown undertone. I have to admit, this isn't my first card. It's not even my second card! The colors challenged me a bit because I was determined to make the Powder Pink and Soft Sky the feature colors.
I worked on watercolor paper using the smoosh technique with Powder Pink and Soft Sky inks. I applied the ink to a scrap of clear acetate, spritzed the paper with water and let the inks work their magic. Because the colors are soft, it needed a little more dimension. Using a very old SU stamp, the splash of extra dots were created by stamping directly on the paper.
The Night of Navy birthday script is a die from MFT and the border die is from Avery Elle.
I hope you will come and play in the gallery this week - but first, pop by the CC&S blog and peek at the rest of the DT's creations!

Stick It Down! July Card Sketch
I was delighted to be asked to join the Stick It Down card sketch DT from now until December. I love card sketches and all of the yummy layers on this one made it fun to play with. It features an old favorite stamp of mine from Lili of the Valley. Remember when adding buttons to cards was all the rage?!? I felt like buttons were the perfect embellishment for this adorable image.
I hope you will pop by the SID Blog and take at peek at the ways the rest of the DT interpreted this sketch and then join us in the gallery! You may win the prize and be the Guest DT member for September.

Making Memories Crafting Challenge - Team B
A while back I was invited to join the Making Memories Crafting Challenge Blog DT and I am thrilled to share my first card for them with you. I got a little ahead of myself and had my card go live on the first day of the challenge, but my day to post is the 15th of the month - oops!! Newbie jitters!
My card features rectangles using images from three stamps sets from Right At Home Stamps. I'm a little obsessed with them right now and having fun with the purchase I made a couple of months ago. The tea cups are from a set called Cup of Joy , the sentiment is from an accompanying set called How Have You Bean?, and the cup decorations are from Abstract Florals.
Luckily, I had a whole day to play as I created this card! Instead of using Copics, I decided to pull out my Distress Inks and work on the no-line faux watercolor technique. I used the variety of colors of 1" ink cubes in my stash to create contrast. It was a great adventure in mixing colors rather than layering on the same color. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Take a peek HERE at the inspiration from the rest of the Making Memories Crafting Challenge DT has created for you this month. We have two fabulous sponsors. The Cutting Cafe is giving 3 cutting files to one winner and Cute As A Button is giving 3 digis to a second winner. Hope you play along with us this month!

CAS Colours & Sketches #230 - Colour Challenge
Each member of the DT has the opportunity to host the CAS Colours and Sketches Blog challenges and July is my month to host! I'll have two colour and two sketches for you to try your hand at this month.
This week is a colour challenge and I thought a couple of the new 2017-18 SU! In-colors should come out to play this week. We're using Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Island Indigo. Feel free to substitute colours (like I have done with my background color). You may also use other neutrals in your card design.
You can find the rules here on the CC&S Blog.
My card features a mermaid from the creative hand of Tammy Seimers-Thompson, the artist behind A Day for Daisies. This one is a stamp, but if you like her style, Tammy has thousands of digis for sale in her shop. My mermaid's colored with Copics. The sentiment is pieced together from a couple of different sets; one is an SU! set Labeler Alphabet.
I hope you will come by the CC&S Blog to see what the rest of the DT has for you this week and then make some time to create something! Hope to see you in the gallery!
Challenges Entered:
Aurora Wings #53/ - AG
Crafty Cardmakers #192/ - Bingo (embossing, stamp, summer)
Make My Monday #49/ - Summer Brights
2 Sisters on the Blog #5/ - Beach
Crea Chicky #12 /- AG/Summer
