Sketch Saturday - Sketch #320

Another new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday.  This one was designed by Vannessa.  UK based company, Sir Stampalot is sponsoring us this week, so play along for a chance to win their fabulous prize.

My card uses a free digi, Sunflower Sprite, available from the current "Sprite Delight" challenge on the Aurora Wings blog.  By the time I was done coloring, the tones evoked a more fall than summer feel.   They reminded me of going to the farmer's market in September and seeing the deep colors of yellow and orange sunflowers.  They make a stunning, happy bouquet!

Choosing the papers was my biggest challenge for this card.  I think I made it harder for myself because of the color Copics I used for shading around the sprite. Wanting to use something other than BG000, I turned to B60 & 63.  Honestly, I wasn't all that thrilled with it, but it's good to experiment!

I used PTI's Lemon Tart for the main yellow and stamped the leafy background with SU's Daffodil Delight ink.  (Lemon Tart ink was too light.)  Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Rectangle die gave some detail to the yellow bg and the sparkle is compliments of Stickles!

Copics Used:
Yellow sunflower -
Y15, 19 &24 with a bit of YR68
"Spotlight" card/ Little Miss Muffet
Orange Sunflower - YR04, 65, 68, E99
Orange Center - E41, 44, YG00; outer ring E41, 44, 47
Leaves - YG00, 03, 11, 23, 67
Sprite's Bloomers - E41, 44, 47
Skin - E00, 21, 11, R20
Colorless blender pen for the tips of the leaves & on her face.

  1. I love the rich colors of this sprite, Cathy. And I love how you picked them up again in the buttons. Stamping over the lemon tart with the daffodil ink was just perfect! I often find getting the right yellow a challenge, but you solved it!
