SugarPea Designs - November Sweet 2 Repeat

It's time again for our Sweet 2 Repeat Blog Hop! Our Pod Squad of designers are geared up to inspire you with even MORE creative possibilities featuring the newest SugarPea Designs stamps and dies from the Holiday 2014 release.

My card features the Lost Without You stamp set and the Gift Tag Sugar Cuts Die.  I knew the shepherd image would be perfect as a tag, so that's where I started.  I die cut a second tag and then inlaid each of them into the striped paper.  I've been crazy about the inlaid technique and use it whenever I can!  The sheep are fussy cut - two are stamped on kraft card stock, shaded with Copics and curls made with my white gel pen.  The shepherd was stamped on stone-colored card stock and then colored with Copics.  His white robe is shaded with B000 and colored over with Wink of Stella.

Our Blog Hop is a fantastic opportunity for you to WIN a $20 gift certificate to spend on some SugarPea Designs of your own!

Please visit each of our design team members listed below and leave a comment on each blog for your chance to win!  Good luck and enjoy the inspiration!

SugarPea Designs - SugarSketch #15

Today's the day I start with SugarPea Designs!  I used the new release set, Have an ICE Day for my card.  I masked the trees to create a background along with the look of mounds of snow.  The penguin's hat is paper pieced and shaded.  He's fussy cut and instead of fishing, he is holding a cup of steamy beverage from the Sweet Treats - Christmas set.  I went a little crazy on the snowflakes, but Stickles on the trees, the snow, and the snowflakes all come together.
Take a look at the SugarPea Designs Blog to see what the other Peas have done with the sketch!  You're sure to be inspired.  Play along with us and remember each project you link up gets you closer to winning the challenge prize - a gift certificate to the SugarPea Designs Online Boutique worth up to $15!  Check out the blog for details.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #335

Happy Saturday! So glad you're here for another week's sketch. Simon Says Stamp! is this week's generous sponsor for our Sketch Saturday challenge.  Their prize is a $25 gift certificate to their store! We are so fortunate at Sketch Saturday to have them as a regular monthly sponsor.

And now for my take on Deb's fun sketch.   I'm really happy with how this one turned out.  The word "joy", the brown polka dot paper, the green and stone colored frames are inlaid. I fussy cut one of the Emerald Faerie elves I had already colored on my desk (a benefit of "practice" coloring images) and made him look like he was hanging onto the tail of the y.  Scraps from the "joy" paper of the die cut are used again for the diagonal strip.  White embossing powder, a few square metal embellishments and one enamel dot finish off the card.

Visit the Sketch Saturday blog to see what the rest of the DT did with Deb's sketch.

Crafty Sentiments Designs - Make It Sparkle!

Back again for another card for the latest Crafty Sentiments challenge, called Make it Sparkle!  This will be a fun one.  I used Flora because I'm certain all elves and fairies sparkle!!  It's hard to tell from the picture, but my card has lots of sparkle.  I haven't been able to figure out how to photograph glitter well. Flora is fussy cut and mounted onto a glitter paper circle.  I added Stickles to her wings and dots in her hair.  Wink of Stella is a base coat in the basket and then tiny rhinestones are mounted on top.  Finally, clear sequins are scattered around the card.  This one is going to a former coworker who was recently moved into a residential hospice facility.

Thanks to Karen Giron and her Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge for giving me the layout for my card.

Copics used:
Hair - E50, 51, 53, 55, 57
Skin - E00, 21, 11, R21
Dress - Y000, 21, 24
Wings - BV000, RV000, BG0000

Check out the inspiration on the Crafty Sentiments blog and share your sparkle with us!

Some Sweet(Pea) News!

I am not especially fond of keeping secrets, so it hasn't been easy to be silent about some very exciting news. Back in June there was a DT call on the SugarPea Designs Blog.  Wendy Ramlakhan, the owner of Sugar Pea Designs, invited me to be a part of their ProjectPea DT for four months, starting this month!!  I could barely type my email back saying, "Yes" fast enough!

The logo of Sugar Pea Designs says "Surround yourself with Sweetness" - and that must come right from Wendy's heart! She is amazing.  I am just thrilled to be part of the ProjectPea DT, so keep an eye out for my first SugarPea creation on November 10th.  The uber-talented Sugar Pea DT gals begin with sneak peeks of the Holiday release on November 3rd and the ProjectPea DT girls join the fun a week later including a special project on November 21st!

If you haven't discovered SugarPea Designs yet, take a peek at the shop. The quality of their clear stamps is fabulous from the first inking and they're designed with versatility in mind.  Four new stamps sets and two great dies are being released this month.  Remember to subscribe to the SugarPea Blog; follow us on Facebook and on Pinterest!

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #334

Good Morning Sketchers!  This week's sketch is from Marzena.  I went with a very literal interpretation of the sketch.  Another week without coloring, but a fun card to figure out as I cut apart some patterned paper to create the cupcakes.  Check out the rest of the DT's inspiration on the Sketch Saturday blog.  Have a good week and don't forget to come and play along with us!
